In March 2008 Hovde Capital launched a proxy battle against Great Wolf Resorts. WOLF shares are held by Hovde Capital Advisors, Financial Institution Partners LP (also III & IV), Cayman Islands-based Financial Institution Partners Ltd. and by managing members Eric Hovde and Richard Perry. In June 2008 Hovde and Murray were elected to Great Wolf’s board of directors, as part of an agreement to settle the proxy.

In June 2007 Beverly Hills Bancorp Inc. announced it retained Hovde Financial to advise on a strategic review for a possible sale.

Hovde Financial LLC was listed #16 out of the Top 50 Advisors by Deal in April 2007.

In February 2007, Hovde Capital Advisors LLC said it will vote against a proposed investment in Scottish Re Group Ltd by MassMutual Capital Partners LLC and an affiliate of Cerberus Capital Management.

In September 1996 Western Acquisition Partners LP, an investor group affiliated with Hovde, purchased 43.5% of Sunwest in an attempt to raise capital for the bank.

It is so cool to have him back!! He is in Shorewood but he works out at Capital Fitness downtown. I joined because he goes there. He works out a lot when he is in the state. It is so important to work out. He is able to squeeze workouts in during the day rather than on weekends. It should be a lesson and example to unfit people; make a priority of your health!

Hovde, a super-wealthy hedge fund manager, says he’s thinking about joining the already-crowded GOP field and says he’d be willing to drop in $10 million of his own money on the race. He also explains that he’s motivated to run because “the economic policies for the last 10 or 12 years have been dominated by Washington being bought off by Wall Street.” That sure as hell doesn’t sound very much like Republican-speak to me, though it echoes this 2008 op-ed he wrote for the Washington Post.

RED STATE They are great conservative leaders but just don't undestand how great Eric Is!

Eric Hovde, seems to be the flavor of the month. A child of privilege, he inherited a family fortune and after college, has lived in Washington, DC for years. Until now, when recently returning. I’m a proud citizen of the badger state and their is no question, his family’s wealth spawns the state. He is the Republican’s answer to a Kennedy. However, what strikes me as peculiar is his charitable efforts overseas, and his lack of charitable prowess in his native state, during what many working families are considering dire circumstances

With the clout of the conservative movement on fire, we need to use caution in viewing those of privilege as the answer

My neighbors might be the guys who help make a part for a luxury car, or have farms that make cheese proudly, there is no question, Eric is someone who buys luxury cars and who eats cheese at his wine and cheese cocktail parties in DC and well, that frightens me. That spells defeat for us anxiously wishing to turn Wisconsin Red & Fire Reid!

For those who’d prefer Ms. Baldwin score the seat for Mr. Reid, then support people like Eric. We need real leaders, not those who dash in and spend money to buy a seat

I encourage all of us to do our homework and to take a closer look. We have no room for error, the stakes are far too high
